Farmington News Week of April 6th, 2009

Good Morning Farmington!
Just when you think the rain has went away, here it comes again, and this time they’re even using that dreaded “S”word, SNOW! I thought since Easter was in April this year that we’d be able to have a nice outdoor egg hunt, beautiful weather for all the family to enjoy, and only the threat of rain, but I never imagined it’d be a year where we’d be digging out the winter coats! I do recall a few times when we were little where we had to put snow pants beneath our Easter dresses, however! Let’s hope this year isn’t one of those times!
WV Arbor Day
In case you didn’t know, West Virginia Arbor Day is this Friday, April 10th. Please go outside and enjoy some of the beautiful trees we have in our neighborhoods!
Farmington Senior Center Hot Dog Sale
Please mark your calendars for a hot dog sale which will be going on Wednesday, April 15th from noon-3 p.m. hosted by the Farmington Senior Citizens. The sale will be held at the Senior Center located on Mill Street. Please pop in and grab a nice lunch!

Happy Easter!
I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter weekend and a welcome home to all the visitors who have come back into the area to celebrate with their loved ones!

Summer MCPARC Program to be Held
The MCPARC Summer Playground Program will be held again this year at our playground located at the Ray Kelly Athletic Field (Farmington Ballfield and Community Building). Children ages 5-12 are welcome to attend! We had a lot of success with our 1st program held last year and we hope to see some familiar as well as new faces this year!
Congrats!
Congratulations go out to the new Mr. and Mrs. Steve and Kaylan Cook who will be joined in marriage this Saturday, April 11th! Many well wishes from your friends for a lifetime of happiness!
Happy Birthday!
Birthday wishes go out to Mary Fisher of Northview who will be turning 93 years young on April 18th!

Council Meeting Reminders
The Council and Mayor would like to remind everyone that the Council Meetings are held on the 1st Monday of each month at 4:30. The second meeting of the month is held on the 3rd Monday at 6:30. All citizens are welcome to come to the meetings whether they are airing their grievances, bringing something to the council’s attention, asking questions, or are just interested in the workings of a small town! We look forward to seeing you there! Also a reminder that the elections for Mayor, Recorder and Council will be held on June 9th.

Lunch for Summer Program
The lunches provided at the MCPARC Summer Playground program are also open to anyone in the community ages 18 years and younger. We encourage anyone who wants to eat lunch on those Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Fridays, to please come down and enjoy a nice meal with us! Please let the playground supervisor know by 9:30 a.m. on those days when you will be eating lunch so that there is enough to go around!
