Farmington News Week of April 23rd, 2012
Good
Morning Farmers!
Hopefully the frosty weather didn’t take
many plants in our area as most of the lawns and gardens around town are really
starting to bloom! I’m not much of a green thumb but we’ve been trying our hand
at a little gardening this year and it almost makes you afraid to plant
anything until it really gets warm and stays warm! Having grandparents for your
neighbors has it’s advantages and one of those is learning little tips and
tricks. While we were talking the other day (and not wagering on Dancing with
the Stars), Meredith was telling me how Rudy has been watering in the morning
and if you do that the frost won’t kill your plants. To my knowledge they haven’t
lost one yet so it must be a good tip! I’m not sure what the Almanac says, but
I heard on the news they’re predicting the last frosts to be mid to late May. Yikes!
Plum
Run UMC Pancake and Sausage Dinner
It’s once again time for that tastiest
of annual traditions, the Plum Run United Methodist Church’s Pancake and
Sausage Dinner! Saturday May 5th from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. you can stop
by the Plum Run UMC and dine with the fine folks from the church and local
neighbors, all of which is prepared by the Plum Run United Methodist Men’s
Organization. The cost is $8 for adults and $4.00 for children, but the
fellowship is absolutely priceless. Please come out and support this fine
group!

this weekend? I’ll tell you! It’s at the North Marion High School cafeteria and
auditorium where the North Marion Noteables will be hosting a Spaghetti Dinner
and Concert Show this Saturday April 28th! Dinner is from 5:30 to
6:45 (last dinner sold at 6:15) and the concert starting in the auditorium at
7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.. Dinner is $8 for adults and $4 for children under
12. You can eat in or take out with take
outs being ready between 5 and 5:30 p.m. The concert is $7 per ticket at the
auditorium. If you would like to purchase advance tickets you can call

your way!
